Going Home

If you’ve ever wondered, “Can I be the ONLY parent who thinks this or that?”, then this site is for you.  Just what do parents in Louth think of its secondary schools?  What are the issues that concern you?  What is best practice?

The objective of LouthParents is to provide a real voice for parents and guardians, and hopefully, through constructive criticism and positive suggestions, to influence policy and practice, thereby making Louth schools better places for our children to learn. Perhaps we might find new ways to offer our skills to schools or find innovative ideas for fund-raising?  But it will only happen if YOU add your views.

As the Government appear to be about to give schools more freedom, perhaps there’s room for parents to become more involved. Surely, the more engaged we parents are with our childrens’ education, the better. We don’t all have the time or the inclination to become school governors, but we do all have an opinion. LouthParents is here to give you a place to voice yours.

Don’t forget to click the RSS icon so you can keep track of updates on the site.

Although the site is primarily aimed at parents of pupils at KEVIGS, Cordeaux and Monks Dyke, any comments on education are welcome.

I hope you will think that this is a worthwhile effort and feel motivated to add your thoughts to the various posts. The site will remain as long as there is interest in it so, wherever you are in the world, let us know what you think before you leave – thanks.

PARENTS AND GUARDIANS ONLY PLEASE (comments from teachers are welcome too).

Although the site is not intended for pupils, we may include a page for you later.  Any comments you make now are welcome, but they may not be published for some time.

All posts will be moderated.

If you have any suggestions for future polls, please leave a post or email them to admin@louthparents.co.uk.

    Hello and well done.

It is marvelous to see that parents have put together a website like this aimed to help parents. Rather than complain in the playground you have given parents a place to go to seek advice and raise any concerns they may have.

I found your web site by accident, I was googling looking for help and advice as we have had a terrible time, four years of sheer Hell from a headteacher at my son’s primary school. If I told you the story you wouldn’t believe it. Perhaps if I said that only two children will be starting in the reception class in September you might think that the school had issues.

Anyway, I think what your doing is brilliant and I hope that your parents appreciate what you are doing.

PS. I wish had a site like this to turn to for help and advice.

We found Scamblesby (between Louth and Horncastle) very good. It is small enough to make every kid matter as an individual. Also heard good reports about North Cockerington (3 miles NE of Louth).
